About the flag

The flag of Hofors municipality in Sweden is a banner of arms.

The arms were granted in 1968 and are based on a symbol on a map from 1539 which is thought to symbolise iron ore mining. The black colour of the flower stands for iron ore and the gold stands for the richness this can provide.

Blazon

Official blazon in Swedish: "I fält av guld en svart blomma med åtta runda kronblad."
Translated to English: Or, a flower with eight round petals, all black.

Torsåker

The flag of Torsåker, a district in Hofors municipality in Sweden. I don't know if it is official, but it is widely used by companies and private people alike. The round symbol corresponds to a centuries-old seal of Torsåker.
