Slovak Pirate Party

Slovak Pirate Party (Slovenská pirátska strana) was founded in June 2009 [1] and registered in December 2011 [2], the latter date sometimes being incorrectly cited as that of the founding [3, 4], although there are online records of party activities since the earlier date [5]. While running the elections since 2012 [3, 4], it did not manage to get elected representation so far.

Slovak Pirate Party flag

The party flag is white, charge with the party logo in black: sail and mast, shaped so as to resemble letter P, surrounded by a "ring" composed of words SLOVENSKÁ at the top and PIRÁTSKA STRANA at the bottom and two circular segments in between. The earliest photos date from February 2012 [6, 7]. The flag shape is nearly square, the width a bit greater than the length [8]; while the emblem is centered on the field, existence of a rather wide sleeve often produces the illusion that the flag is square, with the emblem shifted towards the fly, but the photos with the large enough resolution reveal that the field has heavy stitches along all edges, including the one next to the sleeve, making it easy to tell the flag looks indeed as described [9, 10, 11, 12, 13].

Black flag

Another flag has appeared in early 2019. There, the colors are reversed (white on black), the ratio is much more oblong (about 2:3) and the emblem is a bit modified, the circular segments being much thinner, almost linear [14]. It is not clear whether this flag is official at all, for the original version of the emblem is still in use [15].
