The Slovak Democratic and Christian Union – Democratic Party (Slovenská
demokratická a kresťanská únia – Demokratická strana, SKDU'-DS) was
founded in 2000 as the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (Slovenská
demokratická a kresťanská únia) and the present name was adopted in 2006
after the fusion with the Democratic Party
(Demokratická strana)/, which
was founded in 1989 at the end of the Velvet Revolution. The party is a
member of the European People's Party and Centrist Democrat International.

Slovak Democratic and Christian Union
used the flag with design identical to that of its logo: blue field with the
ratio 1:1, charged with the initials SKDÚ in white, positioned in top fly
corner so that the acute accent touches the top edge. The flag was still used
after the 2006 merger and name change. It was photographed in Bratislava on
2010-06-15, the photos being available here:

The shade of blue seems to be that from the flag of European Union, or
very close.

By mid-2011, a new flag was adopted: blue field
with the ratio 1:1, charged with the old logo within a white border, acute
accent touching the border's inner edge, and the inscription DEMOKRATICKA'
STRANA in white added beneath it; the whole device is set off-centre, closest
to the top hoist corner. The photos of this flag, taken on 2011-09-10, are
