Flag of Marine Corps Commander was abolished on Jan. 3rd 1986 as Act of Ensign of the [ROC] Armed Forces was adopted. The style of this flag, yellow stripes on the top and the bottom, is for the Deputy Commanader-in-Chiefs of Tri-service (Army, Navy, and Air Force) because the Ministry of National Defense considered that a Marine Corps Commander was equivalent to a Naval Deputy Commanader-in-Chief.

The Marine Corps' top rank is just a Lieutenant-General (which is really not fair, since Taiwan has the world's largest Marine Corps relative to the size of its Navy - there are as many Marines as there are Naval personnel). He flies the Marine Corps flag with two gold stars underneath the badge.
