The Gonfalon

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"In January 24 1996 the session of the town council approved the gonfalon: a square canvas with a ratio of 1:1. In a red field there are white hammer, hammer and railway key. The author is Yu.Terlets'kyi."

"On the 24th of January 1996 town council session (resolution No.189) confirmed a modern emblem - in a gules field there is an argent poll-pick and an argent hammer and a key in cross. A poll-pick symbolizes the name of the town (from the word "dovbyt" meaning "to thump").The hammer and the key symbolize a railway and building industry. Gules and argent colors symbolize Volyn'."

The City

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"City in Rivne Oblast.the first time it was mentioned in 1497 in a deed according to which K.Ostroz'kyi was given some villages by a Lithuanian prince. Among the villages there was Dolbuniv. The town has its modern name Zdolbuniv since 1629."
