Description of the flag

The flag graphic shown above was provided by the Deputy City Clerk as such. It consists of the word RIVERBANK colored in light blue and green, edged in gold, on a blue field, with CALIFORNIA written in gold below. At the bottom on a white stripe is "CITY OF ACTION - EST 1922" in gold.

I provide our City logo/emblem and our City flag emblem. Unfortunately, after doing some research I was unable to find any information pertaining to the history of the City logo/emblem or City flag. I assume that the cheese & wine displayed on the logo represents Riverbank's annual Cheese & Wine Exposition. This exposition is an event hosted by the Chamber of Commerce where local and near by wineries as well as a variety of craft and food vendors participate in this street fair. A major part of the exposition is the wine tasting event. The train displayed represents the Santa Fe Railroad which runs through the city. I do know that in 2002 a company in Las Vegas, NV specializing in label pins, designed our current City flag emblem.

I hope that this information has been of some help. If I can further assist you, please do not hesitate to contact me. Once again thank you for your interest in the City of Riverbank.

Emily Colborn, Deputy City Clerk, 24 June 2005
