Description of the flag

The City of Whittier's flag is a rainbow "W". This flag can be seen flying in front of Whittier City Hall, and other locations around the city. The Whittier rainbow flag is a multi-colored flag, consisting of stripes in the shape of a "W". The stripe colors are indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. The use of rainbow flags has a long tradition as a sign of diversity and inclusiveness. They are displayed in many cultures around the world.
