According to the Sheriff's Office webpage, "The mission of the Madison County Sheriff's office is to work with other law enforcement agencies within Madison County and their efforts within the community to preserve the public peace, protect the rights of persons and property, prevent crime, and provide assistance to citizens in urgent situations. The Madison County Sheriff's office is responsible for the collection of county taxes, security of the courts, and the service of legal process and orders of the court, enforcement of federal laws, and the Kentucky Revised Statutes within the boundaries of Madison County."

A photo of the Sheriff's Office honor guard with flags was found as part of a news article online ( Based on the photograph, the flag of the Madison County Sheriff's Office is features the sheriff's badge centered on a dark blue field. A pale gold border of the same shade as the badge acts as an orle on the flag. Between the border and the badge are the words "MADISON COUNTY" arched above the badge and "SHERIFF'S OFFICE" in a straight line below the badge, all of the same shade of pale gold.
