The seal shows a crest-like emblem in the middle. The crest is split into three parts with a central piece showing a bald eagle, for the United States. The first part depicts a valley scene with mountains in the background, as McMinnville is located in a valley within Appalachians. The second shows a dogwood flower, which is common around the area. The third shows the state flag's three star emblem, representing the state of Tennessee.
