This Clean Marina scheme, launched in November 2004, is the one aiming at ecologically improving marinas in the Cumberland River Basin. This river, a tributary of the Ohio, flows through Kentucky and Tennessee. See for instance: Surely it is no coincidence that the programme's symbol closely resembles the one used by that other non-state scheme, T(ennessee) V(alley) A(uthority) Clean Marina (below). The circular logo may be seen at

A broad blue rim bearing white words "Cumberland River Basin" (top) and "Clean Marina" (bottom, smaller) encloses a blue segment showing three white waves and a white speedboat sailing towards the right (bottom) and a green segment (top); the combined segments are fimbriated white. White square flags bearing this logo are awarded to the approved marinas: Additional photos:

Tennessee Valley Authority has its own Clean Marina scheme, proving that you do not have to be a coastal state to set up such a scheme. Relevant page:
"TVA set up the Tennessee Valley Clean Marina Initiative, which addresses such activities as sewage management, oil and gas control, marina siting, and erosion prevention. The program certifies marinas that are in compliance with pollution-control standards and allows them to use the Clean Marina logo and flag."

A large logo is shown on p. 1 of this pdf file: . This is a disk divided by a wavy white horizontal line in a smaller (upper) green part and a larger (lower) blue one; the latter contains two supplementary white wavy lines between which is shown a white speedboat, sailing to the right. The words 'TENNESSEE VALLEY / CLEAN MARINA INITIATIVE' in blue surround the logo.

Another TVA page offers a list of certified marinas and shows a drawing of a rectangular flag: white, the logo - including the words - in the centre:, while on this page, the flag appears on an actual photo:, the difference with the drawing being the presence of a blue ring or rim around the fimbriated logo, containing the words in white. This particular item is square rather than rectangular. Another square flag (now in b/w) is shown on p. 13 of this pdf file: Short video of flag presentation at Grand Harbor Marina, 13 Aug 2005 (and yes, the flag is square): Logo with blue rim here (although the colours are somewhat too strong):
