Overview

In the Department of Justice:

Attorney General..................blue field, white stars
Deputy Attorney General......white field, blue stars
Associate Attorney General..green field, white stars
Solicitor General...................red field, white stars
Assistant Attorney General....yellow field, blue stars

The Associate AG's field looks like a dark bluish-green on Jack's chart, the Solicitor General's is a slightly purplish red, different from other red flags.

Dave Fowler, 28 August 2013 *At the annual Attorney General Awards, when all of these flags are put on display, sometimes the OPR flag is present, and sometimes it is not. I would speculate that there is only one example available at the OPR offices, and they sometimes borrow it for the awards, and sometimes do not.

Attorney General

The Attorney General is head of the Department of Justice and the fourth ranking member of the cabinet (behind the Secretaries of State, Treasury, and Defense). The flag is ultramarine blue--a brighter shade than other cabinet secretaries--with the central device of the Department of Justice seal on it and a white star in each corner. Below the shield is a scroll inscribed "Qui pro Domina Justitia Sequitur," which is conventionally translated "Who prosecutes on behalf of our Lady Justice." The dimensions are 52 x 66 inches like other flags of senior officials; the fringe is white.

According to [kng49], page 642, this flag was adopted in 1932.
