Description of the flag

In 1946, the war was over, and people turned their interest to happier things, like sailing boats. In Oden, Michigan, the Crooked Lake Sailing Association was started, for sailing on the Crooked Lake. Though starting out with whatever was present, after a year enough Nippers had been purchased to make a class out of them, Thus, in 1948 a yacht club was born: The Crooked Lake Yacht Club, complete with burgee.

By 1956 some 50 families were members, and their main priority was keeping membership low enough. A simple club house, participate with any excess furniture. Many of the participants were summer guests, and a whole generation spent their summers on the lakes - sailing, swimming, fish fries. By the 2000s, the world had changed somewhat, but the club is moving with the times. Website: https://crookedlakeyachtclub.wildapricot.org
