The flag of the Municipal Commission of Colonia El Simbolar in the Department
of Robles.

The community of Colonia El Simbola
celebrated (in 2020) its 50 years as a community, an anniversary that coincided
with the end of the isolation that was carried out to control an outbreak of
Covid 19 that had been registered in this town in the Robles department.
In this framework, the authorities of
the municipal commission, with the participation of social organizations and
neighbors, participated in the celebration that took place virtually, in which
the flag and the official shield of Colonia El Simbolar were presented, in
addition to an emblematic song.
The municipal commissioner of Colonia El
Simbolar, Prof. Ángel Iñíguez, highlighted: “Since we cannot hold mass events -
he added - as we are used to, we have put strong emphasis on creating these
symbols. That is why we are presenting on this occasion, a flag, a shield and a
song that will be the anthem of our Colonia El Simbolar.”
“All of this
enriches the cultural heritage and strengthens the sense of identity and
belonging that the colony did not have because it was such a young community,
founded in 1970,” Iñíguez said.
Regarding the details of the flag and the
coat of arms, he explained that the dominant colors are light blue and white, in
addition to red, which represents Santiago del Estero. But the distinctive color
is green, which symbolizes the community's environmental policy and the
productive activity of the area.
There is also a sun that represents a
sunrise and the hope of the people, as well as a carob tree, since Colonia El
Simbolar is the place where the largest artificial plantation of this species
was made with the institution with the largest production of carob in the
country.
