The municipality of Giruá (16,151 inhabitants in 2018; 85,592 ha) is located 480 km north-west of Porto Alegre.

The flag of Giruá is prescribed by Municipal Law No. 567 promulgated on 27
May 1977.
Article 1.
The flag of the municipality of Giruá is
rectangular, with yellow and green as its main colors, charged in the center
with the coat of arms of the municipality prescribed by Law No. 422 promulgated
on 12 June 1974.
