The flag of German New Guinea Company depicts a black lion in the fly. The lion holds red something with its right hand. It seems fleurs-de-lis as French symbol used by German Company. I have never seen red fleurs-de-lis. Does someone know what the lion hold?
Nozomi Kariyasu, 4 Dec 2007

The lion holds a red fleurs-de-lis. This symbol was taken out of the Coat-of-arms of the Deutsch Neuguina-Kompagnie's founder Privy Councillor of Commerce Adolph von Hansemann.
