Gräfenberg Coat of Arms

Shield Gules; on top of a triplemount issuant Vert an embattled wall Argent masoned Sable, charged with an inescutcheon parted per pale, at dexter Or a demi-eagle Sable armed Or and couped per pale, at sinister bendy of six of Gules and Argent, issuant from wall a demi-lion rampant double queued Argent, crowned Or and armed and tongued Azure.
Meaning:
The first seal prints from 1437 and 1463 displayed the arms of the patrician family Haller from Nürnberg, being former local rulers. After Gräfenberg had been acquired by the Free Imperial City of Nürnberg, local seals since 1561 displayed the current pattern and the arms since 1609. The lion is the Bohemian lion and reminding on the fact that Gräfenberg had been a vassal of the Kingdom of Böhmen in 1371, when the city rights had been granted. The wall is alluding to that status. The inescutcheon was omitted for a short time after 1819.

The arms are in use since 1437. The banner had never been approved officially.
