Geithain Coat of Arms

Shield Or a castle Sable with open gate and three towers, the bigger central tower having a hipped roof, the others pitched roofs.
Meaning:
Geithain in the beginning had been part of the County of Rochlitz. It was first mentioned as a city in 1367. The existence of council and mayor is proven since 1335. The high level cognisance was gained in 1392. During the 15th century the city became manorial lord of various parts of neighbouring villages. The arms are based on local seals from the 15th century. They are symbolising the status of a city.
