Kloster Lehnin Banner

It is a blue-white-blue vertical triband with ratio of stripes 1:2:1. The coat of arms is in the white stripe. It appears, as if the municipality only has a banner.

Kloster Lehnin Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, an eradicated oak Or with 11 leaves, superimposed by a stag salient Argent.
Meaning:
The pattern is a stylised version of a painting in the church of the namesake monastery, based upon a nightmare of Emperor Otto I, who saw a white stag and an oak in his dream. The stag tried to attack him again and again but Otto couldn't overpower him. Finally he called Jesus Christ and awoke. His counsellors interpreted the stag as a symbol of the pagan Slavian tribes. They gave him advice to erect a castle to honour Jesus Christ and as a protection against the pagan gods. It became however a monastery.
