Riedering Coat of Arms

Shield Gules a chevron Argent parted by two segments Sable, beneath a cross patty fitchy Or, base wavy Argent.
Meaning:
If you prefer, the chevron could be described as paly of five of Argent and Sable. It displays the family arms of the Barons of Thurn, who ruled the Neubeuern district from 1403 until the middle of the 17th century. Most farms in Riedering belonged to the barons and were maintained by their peasants. The cross is symbolising the close relationships between the village and the Augustine Convent of Herrenchiemsee. The base wavy is symbolising the location on the shores of the Simssee, a lake.
