Flag of Gasny

The flag of Gasny (photo) is white with the municipal coat of arms, "Per bend azure and gules debruised by a a bendlet argent disjoined abased at senester a crozier or per bend overall between a palm branch contourned at dexter a fleur de lis at senester and a leopard in base all or.
The crozier represents St. Nicasius, who evangelized the Vexin. Credited of several miracles, he evangelized numerous places along the Seine and was martyred with his companions on the banks of the Epte in Gasny when heading to Rouen. He apparently never went to Rouen and despite tradition, was probably never bishop there.
