Presentation of Alimos

The municipality of Alimos (38,047 inhabitants in 2001; 591 ha), also known as Kalamaki (Καλαμάκι) is a suburbs in the south-southwestern part of Athens. Alimos is considered as the closest summer destination for the Athenians, because of its beaches.
The municipality was not changed with the 2011 local government reform.

The flag of Alimos (Kokkonis website) is light blue with the bust of the Athenian historian and general Thucydides (c. 460 - c. 395 BC), who was born in Alimos, in light grey, and the name of the municipality beneath.

NOK (website), established in 1947, is based in Alimos Marina.
Membership is 750, including 700 active members scattered over eight sports departments: swimming, water polo, diving, triangle sailing, offshore sailing, underwater and surface fishing, canoe-kayak, and tennis.

The burgee of NOK (photo, photo, photo, photo, photo) is white with two triangles placed along the hoist and another, in the center, spreading to the burgee's point; a white disk charged with the red letters "NOK" is placed along the hoist.
