It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain white field.

Coat of arms

Shield Or with base wavy of Vert and Azure, the Western façade of a two towered church Argent garnished Sable, in chief a corn cob Or leaved Vert at dexter and a grapevine Purpure leaved Vert at sinister. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "FREGUESIA DE ENCARNAÇÃO".
Meaning:
The façade probably displays the local parish church. The green waves in the base are representing the Atlantic.

Encarnação Commune is one of the 11 communes of the Mafra municipality (q.v.); it had 4798 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 28.5 km².
