The arms are Gules two rye ears Or crossed per saltire flanking a fleur de lis Or offset to the chief and flanked by two watermill's wheels Argent and on a base wavy Argent a fess wavy Azure. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "GAVE - MELGAÇO".
