It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of white and green.

Coat of arms

Shield Or; a bar wavy Azure, charged with a barrulet wavy Argent; in chief a goshawk proper (= Maron), holding a in his claws a blue inescutcheons, charged with five plates in quincunx; in base a potatoe shrub Vert with potatoes Argent, between a wheat ear Vert at sexter and a corn cob Gules leafed Vert at sinister. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "ACHADA - NORDESTE".
