Municipal flag of Log - Dragomer

The flag and coat of arms of Log - Dragomer are prescribed by Decision Odlok o grbu, zastavi, žigih in opčinskem prazniku Občine Log - Dragomer (text and line drawings), adopted by the Municipal Council on 10 March 2010, and published on 22 March 2010 in the official Slovene gazette Uradni list Republike Slovenije, 24/2010.

The symbols were designed by Valt Jurečič of Heraldika d.o.o. and Heraldica Slovenica, who kindly provided drawings from which the images shown on this page were made.
The symbols were officially unveiled on 1 June 2010 by the Mayor, Mladen Sumina (photo).

The flag is vertically divided green-yellow-green, the central stripe forming a square charged with the green dragonfly from the municipal coat of arms.
The Decision prescribes the vertical flag with the dragonfly rotated 90 degrees. The vertical size of the dragonfly should be 70%-90% of the flag's fly.

The colors are prescribed as follows:
- Yellow: C 0% - M 9% - Y 94% - K 0%;
- Dark yellow: C 0% - M 15% - Y 94% - K 0%;
- Green: C 100% - M 0% - Y 91% - K 6%;
- Blue: C 100% - M 56% - Y 0% - K 0%;
- Red: C 0% - M 91% - Y 76% - K 0%;
- Black: C 0% - M 11% - Y 51% - K 100%.
Dark yellow seems to be used for the border of the coat of arms. Blue and red do not appear to be used either on the flag or the arms.

The coat of arms of Log-Dragomer is "Or a dragonfly vert a chief of the second three wheels of the first.
The three wheels represent the three villages of the municipality, but also the importance of the transport for the municipality in three ages: old, middle and modern. The dragonfly (Slovenian kačji pastir, lit., meaning "snakes' shepherd") represents the marshy region of Barje, but also the clean water and ecological orientation of the municipality.

According to the minutes of the Commission for the adoption of the symbols, Zapisniki rednih sej Komisije za izdelovo predloga grba in zastave Občine Log - Dragomer (1-4), available on the municipal website, a public contest yielded five proposals. The Commission selected the proposal designed by Želimir Zrnić, from Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina (text and images). The final design, specified by Valt Jurečič, only replaced Zrnić's three six-pointed stars with three wheels, following discussions with the Commission.
