In 1923, Emil Antoine Makzume, a prominent Turkish business man formed in İskenderun a shipping agency which was later taken over by his son Antoine Makzume and which is today internationally known under the name of Antoine Makzume Company.
The company (website), still headquartered in İskenderun, has offices in Mersin, İstanbul, İzmir, Gemlik, and Beirut (Lebanon).
During year 2011 Antoine Makzume Co. has handled through its own offices in all Turkish ports, the husbanding agency of 281 vessels and the commercial and booking agency of 167 vessels.
