Overview

Western Panama province (Panamá Oeste) was established on 01 January 2014 based on decision of Congress. It consists of 5 districts of previous Panama province: Arraiján, Capira, Chame, La Chorrera and San Carlos. Its capital is La Chorrera. Flag and coat of arms of West Panama province are adopted on 30 December 2015 for the second anniversary of creation the new province of Panama.
The flag consists of a green triangle on the left side representing the greenery of its fertile mountains and hope to their citizens for better days. The yellow stripes at the top and bottom represent the sun and the white stripe peace and unity must be maintained.
The five stars are the districts that comprise: Arraijan, La Chorrera, Capira, Chame and San Carlos.
The designer of the flag is Segundo Olivares Becerra, who lives in the district of Capira.

The shield consists of four quarters, where they appear shovel and pickax crossed; gold gear on brown field; the sun, mountains and its shores and a plant on land held by a man born in the region. At the top shows the five stars for the districts of Panama West. Its designer is David Tiffer Rangel, who lives in the district of La Chorrera.
